When you’ve set your hands to the task ahead, it’s best to make sure you’ve got the right tools and equipment to get the job done. Whether it’s a long skin track through snowy peaks, an epic mountain bike ride, or swinging a hammer at your work bench you demand the best gear. As an adventurer and creator, your hands are essential for building today’s dreams and shaping tomorrow’s realities, and it’s smart to keep them comfortable and protected!
The TRUCK brand was founded by hearts intimately familiar with the need for superior hand wear in a variety of outdoor environs. The brand is driven by the idea that quality gear shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. Wherever there’s a mission to be accomplished, TRUCK’s Direct-to-Consumer sales model is there to support you with premium gloves whose price points represent true manufacturing and distribution costs without gaudy profit markups. Get a grip on your favorite tools, handlebars, ski poles, etc. without the double backhand of low-performance gloves at exorbitant prices.
The founders of the company, Brett Keyes, Andy Rosenberg, and Jay Beyer know a thing or two about what should be expected from solid product. Through a combined 75 years of experience throwing themselves off remote peaks, down rocky trails, and into the wild unknowns they learned through first-hand experience what quality means.
However, not only did all three have vast personal experience climbing, riding and skiing around the world they also all worked together in various capacities at Black Diamond Equipment -- an undeniable leader in the field of outdoor performance gear. With both their personal and professional worlds oscillating around outdoor pursuits and the gear that helps make them possible they were confident they could forge a new path and call it their own. So, in February of 2015 they set off to design, develop, manufacture and distribute a whole new line of hand wear that would meet their performance expectations but sell for roughly half the cost of equal competitor brands.
Jump forward 8 months and their first two model landed in Salt Lake City. In true entrepreneurial style, the goal was to drive from coast to coast visiting every ski resort in North America introducing the brand. They believed that if they could gain the trust and loyalty of the mountain operations groups who live and breathe in cold, snowy, demanding environments it would validate their ideas and efforts. So began Brett's travel adventures in a decked-out Sprinter van that he still calls home #2 today. And that desire to share the TRUCK brand and product while making the lasting face-to-face connections really paid off. TRUCK gloves are now widely used by ski resort employees and guests across the country.
A cornerstone of the TRUCK brand is utilizing materials you can trust. For instance, they go so far as to use the best anti-wicking and abrasion resistant threads from a global leader in thread technology: Coats. Threads are an often-overlooked component of sewing. Yet the difference in using a quality thread has lasting effects in terms of product durability and longevity. This level of detail speaks to their commitment to build a superior yet affordable product.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, a huge chunk of packaging and containers, including both cardboard and plastic, creates the bulk of solid waste disposed of in the United States. In 2017 alone, this amounted to roughly 80.1 million tons of trash generated from packaging. This is an astronomical number TRUCK wants to contribute to as little as possible. This is why part of the company's sustainability practices are geared towards keeping packaging lean and simple to produce less unnecessary waste. These measures also work twofold: less effort and money put towards packaging also equals less cost passed onto the customer.
