Point6
Headquartered in the northern corner of Colorado near the Yampa River, surrounded by greenery, the founders of Point6 have embraced and mastered the outdoor lifestyle. As the previous owners of Smartwool who introduced merino wool to the outdoor industry more than two decades ago, they have also mastered the production of merino wool. They named their new endeavor Point6, signifying the miracle merino fiber’s ability to maintain a constant core body temp at 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, whether it’s a scorching summer afternoon or an unusually frigid fall morning.
Point6 socks are known for their comfort and durability, which can be attributed to the company’s state-of-the-art knitting techniques and its use of compact spun yarn (made from hand-selected Merino wool sourced from family farms in New Zealand) rather than conventional ring spun yarns. This process reduces loose fibers and creates long-lasting products that don’t succumb to ugly piling or excessive wear.
Additional features like ankle braces, vent panels, arch support, smooth seams and sport-specific cushioning are built into each pair of Point6 socks. Styles range from solid-colored no-show socks for running to brightly patterned casual crew socks and ski socks with padded shins. The best part? The socks are sustainably made in the USA and when you’ve put a pair on for the last time, you can send them back to the company. Point6 repurposes scrap wool and recycles old socks to make blankets for disaster relief.
Socks may be its specialty, but Point6 also makes base layers for men and women. Shop our selection of Point6 products here on Gear.com, all designed to optimize your body temperature and make your adventures more enjoyable.
